EL CAGANER, Nativity scene's character,
Slide 2:El caganer is a tipycal Catalan and Valencian Character in the nativity Scene. Normally is hidden behing a bush, wearing white shirt, dark trousers, a typical catalan hat called Barretina and sometimes smoking a pipe.
Slide 3: We don't really know why we put a Caganer in our Nativity Scene, but is considerated a symbol of prosperity and good luck for the following year.
Slide 4: Putting El Caganer will give you happiness
Slide 5: If you don't put El Caganer you will have bad luck. If you put it, your life will be better
Slide 6: The origin of this character is betwen the 17th and the 18th century
Slide 7: At the moment you can buy El Caganer with differents personalities: famous politicians, nuns, police, football players, witches, firemans... but they are always in the same position... But the most famous and most used is the peasant. Now, in the following slides you can see some of the special CAGANERS!
